In which I return!

Ok, so rather than posting everyday, how about once a week (or so).  >.>

Also, I recently found out about The Sketchbook Project -- it seems really interesting and fun!

  1. I'd like to know if you learned to draw like this from somewhere or just by yourself.

Doesn't seem like an amateur's random drawings... too orderly and systematic, like you have a frame according to which you draw.

  2. I'm mostly self taught actually! The only classes I took in college that actually had influence on my drawings would be Intermediate Drawing and Figure Drawing (the only way the other classes had influence was from me doodling during lecture).

And I don't really have a frame... (I think?) I start my drawings in a number of ways (like starting with the eyes..or a foot). I guess it just depends on how I'm feeling at the moment. =]

  3. Still, I suppose it's(the college classes you took) enough for basics... unfortunately, such things are unavailable in Israel...

  4. You'd be amazed at how much you can teach yourself. And those 2 drawing classes I mentioned are the only ones I've ever taken. By other classes I meant like: chemistry, microbiology, physiology, etc. ^^;; Before I took those classes, I still had some sort of basic foundation just from drawing on my own and looking at online tutorials.

If there aren't any classes in Israel, just go online! There are TONS of tutorials, classes, and people who are willing to help out. Conceptart.org has a forum for critiques, etc, and the ImagineFX website has free tutorials if you don't want to subscribe to their magazine. There's also The Gnomon Workshop where you can learn online. It's just a matter of looking for what you need and practicing in a manner that improves your ability.

So if you feel discouraged because there aren't classes available in Israel, don't be! Join an artist community online, ask for critiques...you could even just get together a group of friends and draw each other/together. Just be optimistic and I'm sure you'll be able to come up with something =)
